I can’t emphasize strongly enough that
knowing your purpose is crucial for your life course.
Every young
person comes to a time when he or she leaves childhood and enters adulthood.
This is the time in which young people are trying to discover who they are and
why they are. This is also often the time when we lose them or gain
them----lose them to a destructive lifestyle and a wasted life or gain them for
a positive, fulfilling future. Purpose, therefore is key to a young person’s
effectiveness and happiness in life.
NOT EVERY
PURPOSE IS KNOWN TO US
Although
everyone and everything on earth has a purpose, this does not mean that we are
aware of their purposes. When human beings as a race turned their backs on God
and his ways, they end up losing their knowledge of Gods intent for themselves
and for the world. Rejecting God was the equivalent of buying a sophisticated
and intricate piece of equipment and throwing away the user’s manual. If you
get something to work under those circumstances, it is only by pure chance. The
more likely scenario is that you will never get it to function properly. You
will also miss out on the many features and functions it has to offer. It will
never fulfill its purpose. Likewise,
humanity has not respected the fact that Gods creation and his directions for
living were established for a specific reason and that, if that purpose
continues to be abandoned, males and females will never function properly as
human beings. This is a very dangerous situation for them to be in, because it
leads right to the next principle.
THE ABUSE OF PURPOSE
Remember one
of our principles: where purpose is not known, abuse is inevitable? When men
and women misunderstand their purposes, then these purposes will be abused in
some way. It is a misunderstanding of purpose that has pulled men and women
away from God’s original design in creation. This has resulted in a false idea
of dominion and of the relationship between males and females that is causing
confusion and conflict between them. As long as we allow this to continue, we
won’t live fulfilled lives as men and women, and society will continue to
decline.
